Quote:

The number of people escaping the conflict in Syria has now soared to over 1 million. The families I have met are extremely vulnerable. They have lost everything and they are terrified. Exhausted and traumatised, they have no idea how they will feed or care for their children.

More than half the refugees are children. Syria's families need your help today.

Help families fleeing violence.

Day and night, thousands more people pour over the border to Lebanon or to Za'atari refugee camp in Jordan - innocent people who have suddenly and violently been forced from their homes.

"The sound of bullets was terrifying. I had to escape. I've lost everything: my clothes, my home, my memories." Fadia Asaf, who is living with three other families in a temporary shelter in Lebanon.

There are so many people like Fadia who are living in the most basic conditions and are desperately worried about how they are going to look after their families.

This is one of the worst refugee crises I have ever witnessed and it's getting worse.

Please don't wait. People urgently need clean water, food and shelter – basics to survive.
