Of course, a lot of it is really metaphorical. We could discuss the meaning of Magna Carta in its one time and down the ages. We could compare the lot of the poorest young people in modern Britain with that of the feudal serfs, who were little affected by Magna Carta. But how much validity have the comparisons?
